Notes: 9/28/03 - A seaplane in the water is always sorta special, but a Grumman has its own touch. Note that this aircraft has the original fixed floats rather than the retractable type as installed on N121GL.

N327 is reportedly the oldest Goose flying. It was the 51st one built, and there may be older ones in museums, under rebuild, etc. Info on the Internet says that N327 was delivered to the Peruvian Air Force in December, 1938. Goose Central Predictably it has a history of operating in Alaska, Washington and Florida before going to Michigan.

Notes: A little history lesson here. This aircraft is obviously loved and well cared for, but it has enough patches to give it the look of authenticity.

Notes: That nine-cylinder, Pratt & Whitney R985 is pretty anywhere. The three-blade Hartzell is one of the few obvious deviations from original on this aircraft. It was built with counterweighted Hamilton Standard 2D30, non-feathering props. If it was operated through the years it was probably converted to the 22D30, full-feathering Hydramatics before the Hartzells were installed.
