Notes: 8/9/03 - This Rearwin 8125 Cloudster was seen in Iran in the early 1950's. The photo is probably by Gerald "Jerry" Lantz, a pilot who was on contract to spray Locusts there using a 450-Stearman my father sold to the USDA. You can see Stearman and Super Cub sprayers in the background. This is a two-place aircraft with a Ken Royce 7F or 7G (automatic valve gear lubrication), 7-cylinder radial, 120-HP engine. It was issued type certificate 711 in October, 1939. Gross weight is 1800-lb and useful load about 760-lb. It cruises at 125-mph and has an endurance of nearly five hours. Options included a cabin heater, an electrical system, float fittings, metal prop and more. Original color options were Stearman Vermilion (a light red) with Insignia Blue trim, or Insignia Blue with red trim.

I find that 25, Rearwin 8125 Cloudsters were on the Iranian registry along with Fairchild 24, Cessna 195 and other interesting aircraft. I wonder what ever happened to them!
