Notes: 10/7/03 - Two pretty Seabees, NC6240K followed by N6386K. The former has the original Franklin engine, the latter has been converted to a Lycoming GO-480-G2D6 and a 3-bladed, reversing prop. The Lycoming most likely started life in an Army, Beechcraft Twin Bonanza. Bill Bardin has owned N6386K since 1994.

I would have liked to have gotten some shots from the front. I must have been looking somewhere else when these guys came into the lake. There's a lot to see at the International Seaplane Fly-in in Greenville, Maine!

Notes: Power up! Note the distinctive engine cowl on N6386K. Daubenspeck and Simuflight are the two main conversions to put the GO-480 on Seabees. This is the Daubenspeck, which is marked by the large, rather square cowling.

Notes: Four-zero-kilo was off first, but eight-six-kilo had two passengers and nearly full fuel. Both aircraft have obviously been modified with droop tips.

See Sea Planes.org for more on SPA and their beautiful "Water Flying" magazine. You would enjoy the photos and articles, and you might learn about a seaplane fly-in near you! If you do, and you get some nice photos, I'll post them on this site.
